Small, handy, and portable vaping devices have been in the spotlight recently, appealing to the modern vapers who are active and always on the go. These new ultra-portable devices perform really well without the bulk and weight of multi-battery devices.
Our generation has a constant thirst for new and exciting gadgets, and the eVic Basic has the feel of one of those cool little gadgets that you need to have. We’ll break it down for you today with our review of the Joyetech eVic Basic.
Joytech eVic Basic Vape Mod Specs
- Non-removable battery rated at 1500mAh
- Adjustable wattage (up to 40W) and temperature control
- Comes with a Cubis 2 mini 2ml Tank Atomizer on the kit
- Large OLED screen
- Firmware upgradeable
- Real Time Clock (Analog and digital styles)
- Dual Circuit Protection
The eVic Basic kit comes with the larger capacity battery than its mini-mod peers. The 1500mAh battery will supply power to your atomizer for a whole day of average vaping. For vapers who want to experience the power of their fully charged batteries, the eVic has a nifty bypass mode that allows you vape as though you are using a mechanical device. Bypass mode will give you the capability to go higher than the 40W limit, just in case you need to. For vapers that make their own sub-ohm coils, the eVic has the ability to fire coils as low as 0.1-ohm. For temperature mode, the coil resistance range is 0.05- to 1.5-ohm.
Another cool feature on the eVic mod is the OLED clock screen when the device is on standby. The display has a very clean look, and gives the device that gadget feel. Firmware updates are quite easy to do with the included mini USB cable, just simply plug the eVic basic to your computer. You can even put your own custom logo on your mod.
Safety is always a big concern from vapers that have heard of the horror stories from exploding mods because of improper and irresponsible use of batteries. Joyetech has included several safety features to your basic mod for your peace of mind while vaping or while carrying this unit inside your pocket.
Dual circuit protection doubles the safety of the eVic battery over regular mods. This feature protects your mod from over-charging, over-current and over-discharge.
Vaping Experience with Joyetech eVic Vape Mod
The eVic is suited to use as a primary device because it is so light and portable. The fire button is crisp and clicky, misfires are nearly unheard of on this device, regardless of the atomizer you use. Mini tanks look best with the eVic because they don’t have any overhang with 22mm atomizers.
The menu system is good and you can get to the setting you want to adjust in a few button clicks. This menu system is typical of Joyetech mods and they actually did a good job at simplifying their menu system so you have more time to spend vaping than going through the menu.
What we liked about it:
- Real Time Clock
- Small size and light weight
- Firmware Upgradeability
What we didn’t like;
- The + and – buttons sit flush with the bottom of the device, and are difficult to press
- The included tank has some spit-back.
The eVic basic is highly recommended, even for beginners just getting into e-cigs and mods. Enthusiasts and experienced vapers will have a great time using the mod with all its features and capabilities. A kit comes right under $50, which is a hard price to beat for such a lovely little device.
