Halo E-Cigarette Review: Triton Tank System

Halo E-Cigs Review

Halo E-Cigs Rating: 93.3%

Halo has been a leader in the e-cigarette industry for the last few years. Almost three years ago, all they were selling were ‘cig-a-like’ models, just like every other brand in the country. However, they were one of the first few major brands to produce their own USA-made e-liquids. And that’s a big deal because, back then, most brands imported e-juices from China – and quality control standards there are not as strict as in the States.

Halo has now skyrocketed past the cig-a-like age and into the world of refillable tanks and long-lasting, powerful batteries. Their fantastic vaping setups combined with their famous e-liquids are the reason Halo is consistently one of the highest ranked brands in the e-cigarette world.

What’s New?

Halo has recently added some amazing new vaping devices (more like enhanced versions of their existing vaporizers), as well as new flavors, to their repertoire. Let’s take a quick look at them:

TRITON II Starter Kit

Halo Triton 2 Kit$45.00 Best for Beginners

A redesigned version of Triton, Triton II conveniently fits in your pocket. It’s targeted at new and moderately experienced vapers. The kit is available in 700 and 900 mAh capacity ranges, and you can choose any of the eight elegant colors.

Halo has redesigned the tanks to increase performance and work perfectly with the powerful batteries. The 2ml tank comes with a commendable airflow control so you can get maximum vapor and flavor.  The 0.75ohm coil that comes with the kit offers intense sub-ohm vaping experiences, however, you can get coils of different resistance levels i.e. 1.2, and 1.5 ohms, to customize your experience. The coils can help prolong your tanks life and offer the vaping experience just according to your expectations.

Compared to the original Triton, the Triton II offers major improvements and costs $45, just five dollars more than the original Triton but definitely offers more convenience, more power, and more customizability.  Remember, that the batteries, as well as other accessories of the two kits, are not compatible with each other.

HALO Tracer Twist$55.00Sub-Ohm

If you think the Triton II doesn’t offer enough power and flavor, consider the Tracer Twist that comes with a massive 2,300mAh battery, 4ml tank capacity and 5-30W wattage output. The TWIST is made of 304 stainless steel and borosilicate glass, that not only is sturdy but also carries impressive looks. The 0.5ohm single head coil offers massive plumes of vapor and an even intense vaping experience.

The design of TWIST is extremely amazing, and the four colors (we particularly liked the red one) are simply icing on the cake. On top of that, the small size of the vaporizer also allows for stealth vaping.

The only issue with the kit is refilling the tank, which can be quite a pain for the beginners. Other than that, there is nothing to moan against the kit. It has a long lasting battery, that also features several built-in protection features such as auto cut off, low voltage protection, and even short circuit protection. And not to mention the bypass mode that allows you to vape even while the kit is on charging.

Halo Reactor Mega$75.00For Massive Clouds

Just as the name suggests, Reactor Mega is Halo’s most powerful offering, with a 5000 mAh battery that ranges from 1-80W.  Depending on your use, the battery may last from several hours to several days. The powerful vape mod comes with adjustable power, temperature control, and a smart mode. The first two modes can be found on any decent vape mod, but the Mega stands out from the crowd with the smart mode, which can store resistances and/or power levels for up to ten different tanks.

The battery is not the only impressive thing about Mega, it also features a massive 5ml tank which houses a 0.15 ohm Ni200 coil head. To customize you experience you may also get 0.25 or 0.5-ohm titanium and stainless steel coils. No matter which coil you choose, expect amazing sub-ohming experience and the biggest clouds by any Halo vaporizer. Again, refilling the tank isn’t very convenient if you’re a novice. However, it is definitely one of the very best vape mods in the pricing bracket.

$60.00Reactor Mini

If you’re looking for something small but powerful, the impressive power and compact presentation of the Reactor Mini will definitely impress you. It’s a miniature version of more powerful mods, that still offers massive powers and also comes with temperature control feature for an extreme vaping experience.

The starter kit comes with a 2600 mAh battery that ranges from 1-40W, for customizable vaping sessions. You can regulate the wattage output as well as temperature range to enjoy the type of vape you desire. To complement the small size, the tank has only a capacity of 2 ml, and a resistance of 0.5 ohm. For more intense sub-ohm vaping, Halo offers 0.25 ohm dual head vertical coils.

The Mini Starter kit is a blend of convenience, power, affordability, and utmost flavor – a blend that’s hard to find in any other vaporizer mod.

$65.00Halo Reactor Shorty

Available in six colors, the Reactor Shorty is our personal favorite despite slightly compromised power output. It offers everything more powerful Halo mods have to offer, and more in a reduced size. Loaded with a single 18650 battery cell, it can offer a wattage that ranges from 1-75W. The 18650 battery is not only more affordable than most custom batteries, but also offers added reliability. The Shorty tank can hold up to 2 ml of e-liquid. What we really loved about the tank is the fact that unlike most other Halo tanks, it’s extremely easy to refill – thanks to the top-fill design.

The tank features a 0.25 ohm Ni200 dual vertical coils wrapped in organic cotton, for powerful sub-ohm vaping and extreme personalization of your vaping experience. A 0.5 ohm coil is also available in a pack of five. However, what really takes the experience to a whole new level is the handy set of features including adjustable power, temperature control, and a bypass mode – for vaping even when the mod is on charging.

New E-Liquid Flavors

Halo New E-Liquid FlavorsHalo has also added some great new eVo e-juices to their line of gourmet, fruit-flavored, tobacco, and menthol vape juices. Not only the new child-proof packing looks better, almost all the new e-juices taste great. We especially liked the Torque56. What really sets Halo juices apart from others is that they are premium quality, US-made products, and have everything you need to know (from best by date to trackable lot number) labeled clearly. Some of our other favorites from the new addition are Prime15, and Longhorn.

Halo Starter Kit Selection and Prices

Halo has four very but amazing  different starter kits: The G6 Starter Kit is their older, ‘cig-a-like’ style model. But it’s been upgraded and now includes mini refillable tanks which makes a big difference.

It is currently selling for $35. Then the Triton Tank System Starter Kit, which we showed you up there, is their superstar product. It just seems to have far better flavor and vapor production than you get from the smaller batteries and mini tanks. It’s just generally considered better by everyone from advanced e-cigarette users to beginners. The larger, eGo-style battery and tank really make all the difference.

The third one is Tracer Starter Kit — a budget sub-ohm mod capable of producing ginormous clouds of vapor. And the last (but not the least) — the Vapor Beast — Halo Reactor, which we’ve nicknamed as the Vapor Beast.

Tracer Starter Kit
$50Halo Tracer Kit

The Tracer Vape Mod Starter Kit, or simply the Tracer, comes with a beautiful mech-style tube mod that opens a door for you into the flavorful world of low-resistance, sub-ohm vaping. The mod not only has a very beautiful design, but its performance totally swept us off our feet.

It comes with a powerful 2,600 mAh battery that can let you vape for all day long. According to our observations, one charge gives you between 2.5 to 3 hours of vaping. The 3.5 ml tank isn’t one of the biggest tanks available on the market, but it lets you vape longer between refills. And needless to say that the 0.5 sub-ohm dual-coil head offers unrivaled taste and very thick clouds.

Using the kit is very easy, the mod has a single firing button and the 4-port adjustable airflow tank ensures massive clouds. The design of the mod is pretty simplistic, with Halo flame logo and Halo imprinted on pretty much every side of the mod. The good thing is that you get two mouthpieces, my personal favorite one is the stainless steel mouthpiece as the moisture inside the glass mouthpiece freaks me out. I would definitely recommend tracer for everyone who is looking for a cheap decent sub-ohm vape.

Reactor Starter Kit
$60HALO Reactor Starter Kit

If you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks and want a bigger tank and more powerful mod than the Tracer Starter Kit, consider the Reactor Starter Kit by Halo. Reactor kit comes with adjustable wattage (up to 50W) as well as adjustable voltage, and also has an LED screen. It comes with a bigger, 5 ml tank, and has a more powerful 4400 mAh Reactor battery; the rest of the contents are pretty much the same as the Tracer Kit. We did put the two devices through their paces side by side, and although both of them performed exceedingly well, the Reactor kit definitely justifies the extra price.

Considering that there are mods that offer wattage as high as 200W or even higher, 50W might not sound very impressive, but it surely is a great pick for such an affordable price. The best thing about this kit is that you’ll never get any dry hits, it always offers smooth flavor, but if you want to take your vaping experience to the next level, try using it with HALO High VG (v-type) e-liquid.

Just like any other product on the market, there are a couple of minor issues with the Reactor Starter Kit, so take them with a pinch of salt.  First, the fluid container sometimes gets pretty tight and hard open, maybe because of sudden temperature fluctuations. Moreover, there is also a slight learning curve if you’re new to vaping. But at the end of the day, what really matters is the design, performance, and price of the kit, and the Reactor Starter Kit deserves full marks.

Halo G6 E-Cigarette Starter Kit
$35Halo G6 Starter Kit

The G6 is Halo’s version of the “cig-alike.” It performs just as well as other top brands with similar models. The G6 Starter Kit includes two batteries, five cartomizers, one USB charger, one wall adapter, and one Halo case. You get to choose the color and size of your batteries as well as whether they are automatic or manual. Of course, you also pick what flavor you’d like included.

They’ve actually added miniature refillable tanks to their G6 line, which sort of mixes the portability with the power of the Triton System. Plus, it’s $5 less, which never hurts.  Though honestly we think it’s worth far more than the extra $5 to go for the product we’re going to talk about next…

Halo Triton I Kit (includes two e-cigs)

Halo Triton Tank System$40

The Triton Tank System is the star of the show for Halo. It’s one of the best overall setups I’ve had in my time as an e-cigarette user and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to make the switch from tobacco. The Triton Tank System runs for $65, and you get the following:

  • 2 Manual Triton Batteries in the color of your choice
  • 2 Crystal Clear Tanks
  • 1 Iridescence Cone (this covers the tank and matches your battery to give it an overall sleeker look)
  • 1 Charging Kit

This is a very reasonable deal for a two battery kit, especially on the level that the Triton batteries are on. If you want to check out all the different colors and options for the tank system, just click the button below:

Let’s Talk Categories

Halo used to have only two basic starter kits which are very different with each other. They also have a fantastic selection of e-liquid, give this brand a lot of options. They have recently added five new amazing vaporizers that we discussed in the beginning. The new products add a lot of versatility to Halo. In other words, no matter you love light vapor and strong throat hit or you are a serious cloud chaser, Halo’s products have got you covered.

Score: 9/10

Halo already had very reasonable prices, but now they’ve added some better yet affordable products. This has actually forced them to reduce the prices of their older products. For example, their G6 starter kits used to cost $44.99 but is now available for only $35. Likewise, the prices of almost all the older devices have come down considerably. Moreover, Halo kits are way more affordable than similar kits from most other brands. Their e-liquid and accessories – despite their very high quality –  have good prices also, which are really hard to beat.

Design and Packaging

Halo’s Triton Tank System starter kit comes in a classy leather case, which is pretty unique for a starter kit. It is excellent for bringing your Triton with you while you’re on the go.

Score: 10/10

Vapor Production

The Halo Triton produces a huge voltage that creates massive vapor clouds for days. On top of that, most of their kits come with powerful batteries, and coils are designed for sub-ohm vaping, in other words, massive plumes of vapor. This is highly recommended if you love huge vapor clouds.

Score: 10/10

Battery Life

Just like the Halo Triton battery lasts much longer than cig-alike batteries such as the G6. Mine lasts, at least, an entire day on one charge. The newer selection comes with even more powerful and long lasting batteries. For example, the 5000 mAh battery of Triton Mega can last up to several days, depending on the resistance of the coil and your vaping.

Score: 10/10

Halo is considered as one of the best e-liquid suppliers on the market, both by vapers and vaping gurus. They have 22 fantastic flavors. I have tried their flavors: Malibu, Tiki Juice, and Sub-Zero. Malibu and Tiki Juice are fruit flavors and Sub-Zero is menthol. I loved both Malibu and Sub-Zero. Tiki Juice was okay. From what I’ve tried, I can understand why they are so popular in the e-liquid industry.

Final Verdict

Halo Electronic Cigarettes
QSC Rating: 96/100 by

Halo has put a lot into their line of e-cigs as well as e-liquids. The best thing about Halo is diversity in their products i.e. they have something for everyone; no matter you’re vaping for the first time or are an old vaping hand, you’ll find something to fit your bill. Not to mention they have a great customer service. All in all, we highly recommend Halo’s products to every vaping enthusiast out there.
