Alfa Vaporizer Review: Pros and Cons of Alfa Dry Herb Vape

Goboof Alfa Vaporizer

Belonging to the modern line of vaporizers, Gaboof Alfa is a beautiful, compact and powerful vaporizer, available for $199.00. While Goboof might not be as popular as V2Pro Series 7 or Pax 3, and they don’t offer an awful lot of products, yet their Alfa is a commendable product that has pretty quickly carved a place for itself in the competitive market, while being face to face with the likes of Pax, the Pax 2 and Magic Flight Launch Box. Considering the price, Alfa isn’t cheap, but when compared with other vaporizers in the same class – some of which cost more than $250 – it surely is reasonably priced.

Let’s put Alfa vaporizer through its paces and explore different features, and pros and cons of this dry herb vape.

Alfa Vaporizer Delivers a Great Quality of Vapor

Alfa Vaporizer Kit

This is what you get for your $199

Alfa offers better or equally good vapor quality as more expensive models such as Pax 2. The secret behind its superb performance is a central heating pin right in the middle of the oven, which ensures that your herbs get a consistent amount of heat from all sides as well as center, and you get a smooth, rich flavor. The little trick here is to only use the LOW or MID heat settings, as at HI, you’ll get a harsh taste, and the mouthpiece also gets very hot. Also, shorter puffs on a finely ground, tightly packed stash of herbs will offer the best vapor.

Taking ease of use to the next level

You can start vaping in under two minutes; it takes about one minute to prep the vaporizer and then it takes about 30 seconds to heat up. The only issue is that tossing herbs into the chamber is a little cumbersome and can be messy at times, so you’ve be a little cautious. Once you have loaded your herbs, all you need to do is choose the desired heat level, and enjoy your vape. In addition to the three manual heat settings, there are two auto settings that adjust the heat according to the amount of time you spend vaping (A/T) or by the number of puffs you take (A/P).

Cleaning Alfa is not very easy, which is the case with most herb vaporizers. Alfa, however, requires a little extra effort because of the pin in the center of the oven. But most vapers won’t mind the little extra hassle considering the pin increases flexibility greatly by allowing you to pack as much herbs as you want. In other words, even if you don’t fully pack the chamber, the herbs will sit in once place instead of spinning around even when you give the vaporizer occasional bumps.

2-year warranty

On all electronics, you get 2-year limited warranty, plus the battery is covered by 1-year warranty. In other words, they have a better warranty policy than most other portable vaporizers.

Highly portableAlfa's dry herb chamber

The vaporizer is tiny and black in color. These two features do two things: firstly, they make the vaporizer pocket-friendly, and secondly, it won’t attract a lot of unnecessary attention. What else can you ask for in a portable vaporizer?

Ups and downs of battery life

Although Alfa has a decent battery life and can go for about 60-90 minutes on a single charge, it takes about five hours to go from zero to full. So, if you forgot to leave your vaporizer on charging last night, you could be in a bit of a spot. But the good thing is that it allows you to vape even when the charger is plugged in. Also, it comes with a unique charger, which makes us wonder why not make life easy with a standard, USB charger?
