The KandyPens Skycloud is one of the best options under $100. It does decently well with dry herb, but if you want to use wax, oil or e-liquid, this is a great option. Not many people know about it but it’s a damn good vape pen.

This vaporizer from KandyPens boasts that is the first multi-use vaporizer pen to market. It manages to handle dry herbs, oils and e-liquids, making it a truly versatile vaporizer. But does it do it all well or is it just rushing to market to meet a demand without proper testing being done first? We’ll let you know in our review right here.
This vape looks a bit like the container you would use to apply mascara. It is just a small, cylindrical tube with the KandyPens insignia on it. The top pops open to allow you to fill in your oils or switch out the accessories.
We love how small this is, and we were actually surprised that it is able to do so much with its compact space. Now it becomes a bit bulker when you attach some of the atomizers, but it still manages to be very small.
And it won’t come open in your pocket, which is a nice plus. You can take this with you wherever you go and not have to worry about it coming to pieces by the time you want to use it. The atomizer is locked into the battery, making it very secure.
Now the Skycloud is designed to be used with all sorts of different atomizers. You can vape your dry herbs, your oils and your e-liquids just by switching out an atomizer. And it’s all pretty easy to do. You just snap off the top of the battery pen and fit in your atomizer of choice. Then take off the top or mouthpiece, fill it up with your herbs, oils or whatever, and snap the mouthpiece back on. Light it up and you are ready to go.
Powering on the pen is pretty simple. It uses the standard five button presses to start. You can use the same five to turn it off again. Every time you turn it on or off the LED light will flash, letting you know what’s going on. And it shuts off on its own after about 10 seconds. And while you are using the pen, the power button will be lit, so you never have to wonder.
No matter what you are vaping, you need to take slow, steady draws to get a good hit out of it. This is especially true if you are using the dry herbs. You will want to make sure that when you put your herbs in the pen that they aren’t too finely ground up. And then just use slow and regular draws to get the best vape from them.
The battery life on this is decent. It takes about two and a half hours to charge all the way. From that charge, we got a full days’ worth of vaping, which was around 40 minutes for us. This included switching out between some of the different atomizers, so that estimate should be good no matter what you are vaping.
The vapor production is generally decent, you just need to know how to vape. We covered this a bit up above, but it is worth noting that herbs are going to give you a bit more trouble. You just need to learn how to take your draws so you are getting a decent hit each time.
When you use waxes and oils, you use what is known as a wickless atomizer. This may not mean much for those who haven’t vaped with oils in the past, but since we have had a lot of experience with these, it meant that there was no unpleasant aftertaste. We simply received a clean, tasty hit every time and only tasted what we put in there and not the components of the atomizer.
This is also one of the most secure e-liquid tanks we have come across. We have had some that will leak once you put them in your pocket and allow them to turn all around. There were no such problems with the Skycloud, and we appreciated how user-friendly it was.
Our only real problem with this pen was that it tended to get a bit hot. That’s understandable for a small pen at a decent price point, but it can make it troublesome for those who can’t tolerate the heat very well. Now the manufacturers attempt to solve this by making the pen shut off by itself after 10 seconds, but it still manages to make for some hot draws after continued use. Our suggestion is to let it cool down every so often if it starts to get too hot for you. Just take a little break and you should be good to go after a few minutes.

For what you pay, you get a really great deal and a lot of functionality.
It should be noted that if you want to vape dry herbs, you will need to buy a honeycomb screen. It won’t work without it, and there is none included. These are cheap, but you’ll want to make sure you have one before you start vaping.
- Comes with a ton of options- you can vape herbs, oils, waxes and e-liquids
- It is easy to switch between atomizers
- Low charging time
- Auto shutoff
- Easy to use
- May get too hot at times
- Has some trouble vaping herbs
There are cheaper vape pens out there and there are ones that are better quality. But extremely few of them manage to pull off so much versatility at this price.
