There are plenty of sophisticated and complex vaporizers out there for those who like them. But what about for people who want something simpler and who need a straightforward introduction to vaping? For that, we suggest the Cloud V Phantom dry herb vaporizer.
Design
This vape keeps things incredibly simple. There is only one heat setting, and the pen comes with only a couple of parts. The basic black design is functional without looking cheap. It simply gets the job done and nothing more.
Use
To fill the Cloud V, you need to unscrew the bottom of it open. There you can place around .2 or .3g of dry herbs. It’s not a lot, but it should last you for a quick session. You will need to pack the herbs in tightly and grind them up very fine to get the best performance out of this vape.
Turning it on is accomplished by pressing the power button three times. There is only one button, so you don’t have a lot of controls to deal with. There is no LED display or anything to modulate the temperature. You just turn it on and vape at the pre-set temperature. The light turns red when you first turn it on, and once it hits about 420°F, the light will turn blue.
Performance
The battery life is fairly typical for a vape of this size. On around three hours of charge you can get 45 minutes of vaping from the unit.
And while it heats up quickly, it can get a little too hot. The beginning of the session may be pleasant with a nice smooth vapor, but once it has been heated up for a while, it will start to burn the herb a bit and produce vapor that is simply too hot to be very enjoyable.
The Cloud shuts off on its own after two minutes. So you may need to keep turning it back on if your session goes much longer than that. It may prove annoying for some to have to keep making sure the unit is turned on, but it is a great way to prevent accidental fires.
Verdict
What we love most about this vape though is its price. At $119, you are getting a high quality pen vaporizer that is made to last. It’s not made from cheap parts, and it all works well and will continue to do so for a long time.
This is actually a great introductory vaporizer, and we recommend it to people who have never used a vape before and who don’t want to commit a lot of money while they are trying to figure out if vaping is the way to go for them.
