The Arizer Extreme Q is actually at the very TOP of our Best Desktop Vaporizer Guide . It’s under $200, yet you get a machine that can do the same exact thing as the Volcano. Now, the Volcano definitely does vaping bags a lot better, but this is a budget option that still gets the job done. This is also the perfect option for the $200-300 budget range.

This multi-use desktop vaporizer isn’t looking to unseat the vapes at the top of the heap. But it is offering an affordable alternative for those who think the Volcano may be a bit too pricey.

arizer-extreme-q-vaporizer-smallThe flat base plate and tapered cylinder make it look a lot like a coffee maker. It’s shiny and metallic, and it does look the part of a modern, sophisticated vaping machine.

It comes with the ability to use both bags and whips to draw out your vapor. And it includes interior ceramic heating elements. Many people prefer this over plastic or metal heating elements since it can provide a cleaner vapor with little to no unpleasant aftertaste.

A large part of the design that sets this apart from much of its competition is the glass parts. These parts provide some benefits as well as some drawbacks, but we’ll get into that a bit later.

Arizer Extreme QTo make things a little easier on you, the Arizer Extreme Q comes with a remote control. So you can start it up from across the room and let it build up some vapor before you go over and start taking draws. It’s a nice feature that you may not get a lot of use out of, but it does give it a slight edge over many of its competitors that lack this functionality.

Before you turn it on, you will want to put your herbs in the bowl and insert them over the heating element. You would also attach your balloon or whip at this point.

Once everything is attached, you can turn it on and adjust the temperature and fan speed. The controls are pretty straightforward, and they let you get a precise temperature. The fan speed changes the density of your vapor. The slower your fan speed, the thicker the vapor will be.

The fan on the Arizer is incredibly quiet. This not only makes it inconspicuous, but it won’t attract attention through its noise. It also makes for a much more relaxing vaping session.

Now assembling and taking apart all the glass parts can be a chore. And they will likely break if you drop them. But they do provide very clear vapor, so we think it’s a fair tradeoff. The Arizer is really all about providing excellent taste. Between the glass tubing and the ceramic heating, it seems like the manufacturer used every technique in the book to get the best taste of out the vapor being produced.

On the downside, the tubing and the vaporizer can get a little hot. And they gunk up pretty quickly, so you will need to clean the glass parts after each use. But we feel that’s a fine price to pay for powerful and tasty vapor.

As you use the vaporizer, you should be stirring the herbs to ensure they are all getting vaped. If you don’t stir occasionally, it is possible that on higher temperature settings they will be burned.

And let’s talk about that price for a minute. You get this multi-function, high-performance desktop vaporizer all for just $200. Compare that to the high-end vapes that cost five or six hundred dollars. This works nearly as well and costs a fraction of what its competition is charging.

The Arizer extreme Q comes with everything you need to get started. Its bevy of accessories include whips, bags, a couple of mouthpieces, some extra screens, a remote, a stirring tool and more. And everything works quite well. We mentioned already that the glass tubing can be fragile, so you’ll want to be careful with that. If it breaks, the warranty won’t cover it.

And when you use the included bags, you have to close off the bottom of them yourself. There are no valves attached. We suppose this helps the company save some money, and it’s not a big inconvenience, but you’ll probably let some vapor out your first time using it if you aren’t aware that they are made like that.

For the price this one retails for, it offers a sensational value. You can find other desktop vaporizers that do a bit more or that work slightly better. But you really can’t beat the value being offered here.

We highly recommend this as an introductory vaporizer. It may not last you for years and years like a Volcano, but it will be well worth your investment. And it gives you a great introduction to the vaping scene and what you can expect from using a vaporizer. And it manages to do it all at a price that most people are going to be able to afford.

  • Superb pricing makes this a real steal
  • Nearly silent running thanks to a quiet fan
  • Comes with a ton of accessories and vaping options
  • Precise temperature controls
  • Ceramic heating and glass tubing make for great-tasting vapor

  • Glass parts can be fragile and require regular cleaning
  • No valve on the bags

You might be wondering what is wrong with this vaporizer for it to come out at such a lower price than a lot of tis competition. But the only real difference is in its vaping options. You can’t use waxes or oils with it, just herbs. For most people, that won’t be a problem, as they only ever use herbs. While it is nice to have those vaping options available to you if the opportunity to vape something else ever presents itself, there isn’t much point in paying for a function you won’t really use regularly.

So for what is being offered, we feel this is a great value. And it offers some of the best vapor quality in the business thanks to its ceramic and glass parts. So if you want to get a lot out of your vaporizer but don’t necessarily want to pay a lot, then this is one of your very best options.

  1. I have owned and used this Arizer extreme q for three years now. It is a fine machine for dry herb vaping. This unit w the DDave mods on eBay make for huge vaping hits. The mod does away with the high maintenance glass elbow. It is the primary negative of the stock glass parts. This vaporizer with the mod are my favorite way of medicating for under $300!!

  2. I have experience with the volcano and also the Arizer Extreme Q. It takes a lot longer to fill the balloons with the Arizer Extreme Q but it is way cheaper and ultra light. Another benefit is the includes whip. If you have enough money I would still go for the Volcano because the durability . But if you have a small budget this vape will not disappoint you!
